Meweyville: An Island built by Refugees and Dreamers

Alvin Ong

This illustrated map is handed to newcomers when they first arrive at the Isle of Meweyville. The island was founded by Mewton Mewey and his friend Mr. Doodle as a sanctuary for those seeking refuge, and over time it grew into a thriving settlement rich in natural resources—especially fruits.

Doodle Park, marked in pink, is considered the island’s “downtown,” a lively district of festivals, markets, and wandering performers. Most residents pass through it daily, even if they live in quieter regions like Sierra Fields or the farms near Mountain Mew.
Beyond these familiar areas, large portions of the island remain only partially charted. Locals say new paths appear after heavy storms, and some claim entire landmarks shift from season to season.

Locals insist the tides around Midlake behave strangely during the full moon, but no one agrees on why.

More notes from the island’s archives are currently being catalogued by Roscoe at the Mew Wave Radio station.

“Meweyville is built on the values of kindness, community, and welcoming those who need a place to belong. It’s a cozy, whimsical world where everyone works together to build something better.” - Mewton Mewey
